The first ever Redditch Schools Box Cup saw over 200 boxers showcase their skills in front of a capacity crowd this weekend.
The event, which was organised by Redditch Community Amateur Boxing Club, featured 114 bouts and took place over two weekends at the Abbey Stadium in Redditch.
The Box Cup was set up to support Childline, with many of the boxers sponsored by friends and family, and a raffle featuring a pair of gloves signed by Olympic champion Anthony Joshua.
Boxer of the Tournament was awarded to Josh Frankham of Pinewood Starr ABC in Easthamstead, who boxed twice to win a gold medal.
Redditch Community ABC head coach Todd Reeves said: ‘It goes to show how exciting and popular amateur boxing is among school children. Many of our local schools brought pupils along to enjoy the action.
‘On behalf of the club, I’d like to say a big thank you to every boxer, coach, offical, volunteer and spectator that contributed to the fantastic atmosphere.
‘The event was a great end to the boxing season for these youngsters. It was our first Schools Box Cup and we’re very much looking forward to the next one.’
